Opening Day of Soccer for Kaleigh

WEll the Fall sport of all Fall sports has begun and we spent Sat morning at opening ceremonies for said occasion...The start of the Soccer Season!! Since LAX came into our lives we have given up this little treasure of a sport but as the mid west is not so into the Indian sport (little strange is it not) we are back to Mikes bread and butter!! So heres to a great soccer season K!!!

So the Yunker kids have started school here in NE!! Who can believe that they are in 3rd and 1st grade..definitely not their mother! But alas I digress b/c then I have to think about what is to come and I am most definitely not ready for them to be teenagers!! So almost 9 and almost 7 it is..haha But they are so darn cute huh??? Oh and aside from getting lost in the hallway (Kaleigh) and running into a pole b/c he was talking (guess who) school is awesome I am told!!!

Well after Mike and I had very adventurous trip out here. We had some obstables to over come once we got here witht he house and the shipment. But it honestly just wouldn't be us if there wasn't any kind of craziness!! HAHA However everything is together for the most part the kids love it and are registered for school and start in two weeks!! We went to the zoo out here which is simply amazing!!

Mikes Graduation from the Naval War College

Today Mike graduated from the Naval War College here in Newport RI. Finally with the Masters Degree!! (I have been one upping him) We are extremely proud of him and now the kids and I are on to Nebraska and Mike will meet us there in November... The Navy gets a little to wary of us living in the same state for longer then 12 months! HAHA

Don't be fooled by the fact that we are on a beach..the weather has NOT changed here in New England for the better. It is in fact cold and windy and shows no signs of spring in the near future much to my dismay. However, we decided to brave the elements and take the kids and dogs to the beach for a much needed airing out so that we may all continue to reside under the same roof until indeed Spring is merciful and does come!! Keep in mind though if you receive a large crate with air holes that is a)talking and or b)barking please sign and care for as it was absolutely necessary for survival...haha

In celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday the kids school held a "dress as your favorite storybook character day". So Aiden dressed as Skippyjon Jones from the series of books where a crazy cat believes he is a chihuahua and Kaleigh dressed as Mia from the American Girl Doll set of chapter books. Exciting times here!!

Kaleigh did a wonderful job at her First Communion and we are so proud of her. She was super nervous about her speaking parts (and therefore Mommy was) but she got up there and did it. I hope she will remember this always as something special and look back and smile. She had second communion today and though it didn't have all the grandeur of the first she was still excited!!

So I have officially entered the downhill spiral of my mind finally giving out from being a single parent for 2+ years!! I was called by the PTA of my childs school (I am intentionally leaving out which one b/c it will all become clear) for the June 6th Fair. So thinking today it was odd that I hadn't heard anything about the fair from Kaleigh I asked my neighbor if she knew when it was, her kids go to the same school, and thought did I get it wrong and it was this weekend. She had no clue. Then I come inside and get a call from AIDENS school that we could drop off cookies in the office...oh yeah that kid!! YOU KNOW THE SCHOOL WITH THE SIGN FOR THE FAIR ON JUNE 6TH OUTSIDE OF IT!! I would have totally delivered cookies to Kaleighs school and they probably would have looked at me and been like....she has lost her mind.....and for the record yes I have!!!

Sitting at Lax (imagine that) for Kaleigh and Aiden decided he wanted to sit in the car with me. Usually this leads to intesting conversation to say the least which then leads to me saying let me turn on the DVd for you (so I can have 5 minutes of peace after answering such questions from death and religion to how many licks it takes to get to the center of the lollipop). Anyway this particular day I was texting mike to the ship email since he can't talk on the phone b/c they are doing sea trials (and yes the navy is full of prep for this prep for that and then...wait!)

Here is the conversation:
The Commodores song Lady came on the radio and I said oh Dad really likes Lionel Ritchie.

Aiden: Is that the girl voice or sort of boy voice I hear?
Me: That is the sort of boy voice.
Aiden: You need to tell dad that this songwriter is lame and so is the song.
Me: Laughing so I text mike what aiden says

Mike:Tell Aiden that hurts
Aiden: Not as much as this song hurts my ears
Mike: You are making him a Mamas boy
Me: What? What does that have to do with anything?
Mike: He is just like you! (of course i dont see the problem)

The mischevious little leprechaun made his way into our house last night and created a mess. He crepe papered the kids rooms while they were asleep, throwing stuffed animals around, toppeling chairs, pee peeing green in the potty's, and leaving a path to follow to a flute (kazoo) to take the snakes off their gold (candy). The kids were so excited Aiden was making up stuff the leprechaun did!!

We have never lived close enough to a Home Depot to know if they all do this but here they do this cool kids project day once a month. This month it was a bird feeder. They had alot of fun and they even got aprons with their names on them...so cute!

First Day of School in RI

So the first day went great....well after Aiden cried and had to be physically restrained while I left the room! Honestly though I talked to the school not half and hour later and he was fine and he even went in no problem today. WHEW!! Kaleigh loved it!! Went right into her classroom and said Bye Mom and Dad. I thought Mike might cry.. Then today she rode the bus which may not seem like a big deal but it was her first time since we have always driven them to school. She was beside herself with glee. I can't say I share her enthusiam I used to beg my mom to drive me to school!! All in all everthing is going well. The boxes have finally been taken away. Things are going up on the wall and Mike got his HD tv which I have to admit I really like. Like any military community there are a ton of kids and my kids just are now part of the pack. Mike goes back to work on Monday in VA and the countdown will start!

Productive Trip to RI

Mike and I are back from an exhausting 2 days of running around getting things ready in RI. We are living in military housing, not too terribly exciting but everything fits furniture wise. And let's be honest we'll only be there for little over a year. The kids are enrolled in school. Aiden has to go to Catholic Preschool b/c there is no public prek there. So if you hear of a school being taken over by a preschooler you won't need to ask! Kaleigh is going to the local public school. We met with the principal and were really impressed let's hope that continues and she likes it.

As far as we know settlement is still scheduled for March 15 so say your prayers that all goes well. We'll keep ya posted!!

The Last Week in Our House

So what's new in the Yunker household??.... Hmmmm Oh yeah we are moving. You knew that but did you know we are moving in 3 weeks!!! Yup the house is a buzz with frantic people making lists, deciding what furniture to take, a girl child reminding me of her busy schudule before we go, and a boy child who reminds me every other hour that he is taking all his toys!!

I should probably elaborate on how this all came about...Last March we applied for the Militarys Homeowners Assistance Program to offset the cost of the dramatically fallen house prices. This January we finally sold the house for half of what we bought it, no really HALF, and the govt concented. Great YEah!! However until last week they neglected to tell us that we had to relocate to our next duty station..RI. However we didn't have orders yet..AHHHH So after me running around the house screaming I pulled it together and we tried to make plans.. So now the Navy was involved, great b/c there is nothing like two govt agencies with a plethera of red tape at hand. To spare you the stress, the worry, the stress (already said that), and the length of this story I will just tell you that Mikes orders were expedited so we are moving to RI the first week in March.

Mike and I are going up this week on Wed to go to Military Housing and enroll the kids in school somewhere.....

The kids and I are heading up to RI and Mike will follow up on Aug 1st when he can leave Enterprise. So keep checking back b/c sometime in the next 5 months I could be writing my blog from the safety of my own padded cell!!

Snowpocolipse Part 2

I really have nothing to say about all this except that when we bought the fence we did so with the intention of it keeping the dogs in but now with their two new LOOKOUT Points they can get right over!! Also when Mike says he has to go to work and can't stay for the snow and said state he works in doesn't get any snow it might be grounds for the one that has to shovel all the snow for a paid plane ticket to somewhere WARM!! I'm just saying......

Snowpocolipse 2010

Well we survived Snowpocolipse 2010. With another one on it's heels. Did I mention I am ready to go to Rhode Island where they have had less snow??? HAHA The kids and Jax had a blast today but Boone wasn't having any parts of the white cold stuff touching his paws... He says only sand from Key West shall touch these paws and I have to say I completely agree!!

We really have too much going on to mention but our move might be MOVED up but I will spare you all the details for the time being. In the meantime enjoy the snowy pics while Boone and I jump a plane someplace warmer!!

Yes we finally have a contract on our house and I am willing to say it outloud. Now watch something will happen..hehe Anyway we are waiting to hear whether they can rent back to us until June or if we have to find something very temporary. Say a prayer we can stay b/c I REALLY don't wanna move twice.

The kids are great. Lax starts soon and Kaleigh is all dolled up with new gear. Aiden starts the Starters this year so watch out!!

I Little December Joy

The month of December, while hectic, will always be a special month. Mostly b/c of Christmas but particuarly the two beautiful children that made me a Mommy were born in this month. I know what you are saying....is March really that cold and the answer is most definetly yes!!

That being said we have alot of blessings this year, eventhough I complain about our home not selling. Number 1- Mike is home this Christmas!! If I enumerated them all you would honestly stop reading this so as to spare you the guilt I will not go any further just know we are blessed.

My Baby Turned 5 Today

Today our Aiden turned 5. While I am rejoicing for him since he is so excited I feel a little sad. No one tells you it is hard to watch your kids grow up!! Thanks people!! When they are babies you can't wait for them to get their first tooth, to walk and talk. But when it is you second and last it is kinda sad to see the chubby cheeks go and the baby chub grow tall. So eventhough they make you want to tear your hair out sometimes...most of the time (haha) enjoy it because it only happens once and obviously I didn't figure out how to keep him from turning 5!! HAHA Keep laughing!!

It was a wonderful thanks giving and full of wonderful people and food to be thankful for. Kaleigh actually made it through her second Thanksgiving without being sick...(the child had gotten the stomach flu every year but the last two..go figure) But this year we ate until we were sick and will probably keep eating through Christmas!! We are finally finished soccer season!! Whew! It went great but we definitely need some down time. Actually I think I am the only one who needs some down time.... Kaleigh and Aiden are doing well in school and already made their birthday and Christmas lists!! We leave for our Yunker Family Trip to Disney in early December and we are going to celebrate with cake at the Castle. YEAH!!

Things are somewhat starting to move with our HAP military application (program to help sell/buy homes from military with change of orders). Here's to keeping our fingers crossed that they don't lose anything else from our file. With good luck and a lot of prayers all of us might live in the same house in Rhode Island. Yup that is the plan Newport for a year and then hopefully to Germany for 3!! Keep us in your prayers that everything falls into place.

Mike's ship might come out of the shipyard after the new year so that would be a change for him to be on a ship that actually moves!! HAHA As for me I am just working, playing piano (or rather trying to), and being a mom taxi.

To everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving. There are always things to be thankful for even for me the worlds biggest pessimist..well sometimes :0)

The Last Days of Summer

For the very first time since I became a Mom both of my kids will be away all day at school. We are starting soccer again folks!! It is not lacrosse but it will hold us over until then..haha We had our first practice last night and Kaleigh had a blast and loved her coaches. In other news we start school next week and for the first time ever both kids will be in school together..YIPEE!! I will start work at Aidens old preschool three days a week for a couple of hours and I am taking piano lessons..yes me so keep your fingers crossed.

Surprises Are Always Good

Well at least surprises that include your in laws taking both kids and you (and by you I mean me) going to San Diego to visit our dear friends the Hamilitons. It was so much fun I hope the surprise was a good one for them too but selfishly I say "too bad" because I got to spend time with the boys and my princess goddaughter Caroline. Sorry Tinalea you know I love you and John!! The trip was relaxing and I truly was in awe of San Diego. Geographically it is beautiful and weather wise...let's just say if I could bring that weather home I would have. Miss ya already Hamptons!!
But from good it got better b/c I got to see my kiddos waiting for their very tired Mommy to come off the plane with hugs and kisses all around, and Mike too!! In San Diego our plane had a difficulty shall we say and the part had to brought from LA. Does it make you nervous they were planning on putting us on that plane fixed or not. I must confess I was a little concerned. But after spending 6 hours at the airport I became less and less and less concened. At 11 pm Houston time I landed and stayed in a hotel they provided (I digress from my ranting here about the need for a hotel when by the time you get there you have three hours to get back to the airport but again I digress) and then back to good ole MD early early in the morning. Did I mention EARLY ok sorry. Anyway after sitting in beach traffic on RT 50 I am finally home and in my own bed. All is right in the world when you get into your own bed isn't it?
So I loved my time in San Diego thanks to the wonderful Hamiltons but I was happy to see my family when I got home waiting with batted breath at the airport (one can dream). Now all I hear is "when are we going to San Diego?" Guess I better get to plannin!!

But for right now Mike took a week off of work so we are going to party party party..haha and anxiously await the O's visit. Can't wait!!

Oh and by the way Aunt Tinalea Kaleigh wanted to see more pics of Hunter and they are already writing with their new pencils!! Love ya!!

Whew Quiet Time at Last!

Finally after our whirlwind tour of VA Beach and surrounding areas (sorry bakery I will get to you next time however I saved myself an extra 10 pounds) we finally are home and doing...nothing. And to make life even quieter my ever insightful and witty, loud son is taking some time away from his mom and spending a week with his grandparents. God Bless them since they need it..that kid is too much like his mother (who said that???!!!). Anyway Kaleigh hasn't had to mother anyone which I am thinking she is a little put out about but somewhere in the recesses of her mind her brain is thanking someone for the break of scolding, helping dress, and overall maintance she deems her responsibility in her brother...well maybe!!!

Anyway the kids had a blast at the beach, the childrens museum, and Busch Gardens. They even had Gram, Pop, and Aunt Sue to harass leaving little time to bother mom and dad. Yes I did say little time as harrassing ones parents is something that is never far from their minds. Here are some pics..Enjoy

This was our trip with Mike to the Aquarium. Kaleigh has been very upset all summer b/c he never gets to go with us so we finally got it together. The jellyfish exibit was great and the kids got a blast out of watching them. Of course here on the East Coast we get just your typical white jellyfish but on the West Coast they are an auburn color. I guess in the long run it doesn't matter they still sting ya in the end! Can't believe summer is almost over. A couple more trips and back to school.

That is what you do when you go to Dutch Wonderland. It is definetly the place to take your kids under 10 as it has many different things to do..rollercoasters, water park, and games. The kids had a blast and so did the Mommies if I do say so myself. I have to say though that summer is catching up with us at last for we are tired out. Kaleigh and Aiden took a 4 hour nap on Tuesday and still went to bed at bedtime!! But we promise to enjoy summer til the bitter end!!

As for me I have decided to go back to work...at least part time. I know I hear a rumble through the audience but have no fear it is only 3 days a week from 9-12. I am going to be an Aide in the 3 year old room at Aidens old Preschool!! Can you believe that Aiden and Kaleigh will be in the same school and I will have 2 free days a week!! WOW How time flies.

The Yunkers Go To Washington

Something like Mr. Smith going to Washington..remember having to watch that in Govt?? No..sorry. Well anyway it was a great time. They had kids activities galore, face painting, amazing ballonist, and games...it was wonderful. The president gave a speech and even came out to shake a few hands. I was so close but no handshake due to the overbearing pushy woman behind me but I digress. There was food, ice cream for 10,000, and beer and wine on the house!! It was like having a party in somebody's backyard while they are home. The USO did a great job with the entertainment - Jimmy Fallon, Michelle Branch, and Foo Fighters (now that made me happy). Fireworks and the whole shabang!! Such a wonderful experience for us but mostly for our kids. Kaleigh and Aiden had a great time and surely don't reconize the signifigance now but one day what a story!!

I have to stop here to say that the reason that we were so honored was because of military men and women who proudly serve in the sometimes horrible circumstances of our world today and that includes our personal hero Mike. We should all be so thankful, and coming from a military wife who isn't always so happy that his work takes him away from us, it is the bigger picture of what he does that makes us proud of him and everyone else who chooses their country which sometimes means over what they would rather be doing so others have the freedom we sometimes take for granted. I don't always adhere to this rationale for stricly selfish reasons but on a day like the 4th I can conceed!! So off my soapbox and enjoy the pictures!!

Visit to the Smithsonian

Or as my kids aptly referred to it this time around "night at the museum." I find that funny since they have been there many times since before they could walk but out comes a movie about it and it is like a whole new place...hmmm Maybe making a short film about helping clean the house will make that exciting as well. Overall a great day and the new Oceans (well new to us since we were there last year) exhibit in Natural History was spectacular. The kids had a blast and it was even more fun to share with friends.

Oh and now Aiden wants to be in the Navy as a pilot (due to his Dad and well truth be told the reminder of his love of the Blue Angels in the new IMAX show "Fighter Pilot"(although about the air force but I won't tell))shortly followed by being an astronaut. One future down one to go...what is that you say he will change his mind...never!!

Come to find out in the Air and Space mueseum the Air Craft Carrier part is based on CVN 65 or better know as the USS Enterprise- Mike's Ship!! Go figure we are never far from our roots are we??? The kids liked the huge scale model of it. Although as the saying(from Mike) goes around here-(since this family is no longer impressed with such greatness of a haze gray ship) "You've seen one ship you've seen them all."

To which we reply.."Yup!!"

Beach Buddies and Ice Cream Faces

So on a faithful Monday Morning we piled 6 kids with 3 happy moms into a fifteen passanger van and headed for Assateague and then OC Boardwalk. The van itself was loaded down with drinks, snacks, essential beach equiptment, and of course happy smiles... The beach was great the kids had a blast but apparently not enough to knock them, or rather all of them, out on the way to OC. We rode rides, and ate at the great staples of OC including Dough Roller, Dumsers, and Fishers
Popcorn. And wouldn't you know it still wasn't enough to make those kids sleep on the way home!! Overall great day with great friends! I was just sorry I didn't think to chill a bottle of wine for my return home..hehe

Future Architect I Tell Ya

Here we are 4 days after the surgery on my ear and I am feeling more like myself. I am trying not to jinx anything so that is all I am saying on the subject except for the fact that not being able to hear out of one ear entirely if completely aggrevating!! Oh well..

On to the real reason for the post. Kaleigh is spending the week with her grandparents as to lighten the load of children in my house this week..thanks Gram and Pop!! Kaleigh, god love her, has always been my more physical child requiring constant entertainment or else complete boredom sets in and she is just not a happy camper. Then there is Aiden who not only entertains himself but does it for hours..playing with his toys in his room. I blame it on first child syndrome we never put her down...never!! HAHA Although I wouldn't change anything b/c any given day they can drag the other one into their own interest for a while.

Anyway the point to the post Aiden has become a builder extraordinaire with his Tinker Toys (thanks Uncle Ross) and last night built the above table and chairs on his own!! I am amazed at what he comes up with. He tells me he is never taking the table down but when he was building his robot this morning he was eyeing some pieces from the table...we'll see how long it lasts!!

1st Grade Already

I have to say that with having Kaleigh and Aiden so close together, well 23 3/4 months apart (and that is not even close compared to some of our friends-Love ya'all), I seemed to always be happy when she got to some milestone that made life easier. For example, feeding herself, walking up and down stairs (believe me I got down on one knee for this one), getting herself dressed...you get the picture. However lately, and especially today (last real day of Kindergarten), I feel like we have rushed through everything that I just want to savor the time now since things have slowed down. Well maybe not slowed down as much as Aiden is able to do the things that make life easier in some respect...minus the whinning!! Totally as an aside I probably spend more time with the two of them trying to negotiate with me then I do sleeping (you know it is coming when you hear the words.."what if" or "how about") I see them as being all too persuasive lawyers!! Anyway back to topic, enjoy every minute even when you want to scream!! HAHA

Kaleigh has recently had many a tooth fall out but none so special as the front tooth. Yes the tooth that shows the world that eating corn will be problamatic but using a straw somewhat easier. But just think of how sick she will be of us singing the front tooth for christmas song to her until this one comes in and the next one falls out!! What other tooth has it's own song?? I knew this day would come. That one day he wouldn't look like my little boy that he would get older and he would loose the chubby cheeks and baby nose but really when did this happen?? Maybe b/c I see him everyday I didn't notice him change so much!! But look at that picture...he is becoming a big boy and this mamas gotta face facts...Well fine... but I am not going to like it!!

Kaleighs Last Prayer Service

As many of you know life just wouldn't be the same if the Yunkers knew where they were going to be in any given year. But that is what makes life so much fun, like a Where's Waldo Puzzle. HAHA Anyway I think for the next year we should still be in Easton as long as the house doesn't sell this summer (hey a girl can dream, and I do really like it here). So since we had to sign contracts for next year for Kaleighs school stating that we owed the money whether we stayed or had to leave I just couldn't in good conscious sign. However Kaleigh went to visit her new school (St Michaels Elem) and loved it and better yet some kids from her present school are going next year too!! Yeah. And for the first time ever Kaleigh and Aiden will be in the same school.

But today was Kaleighs last prayer service and she did a bang up job remembering her line and saying it outloud. And to further touch her mothers heart (I know you know I love the Beatles) the class sang "Here Comes the Sun" So aside from the camera batteries dying it was Wonderful!! Good Job K!!

So Mike went back to work and the kids are at school so the house seems pretty quiet. I have a quick story that will possibly bring a tear to you eye so this is your warning.

Mike was in Aidens room last night saying good night and Aiden turns and hands him a compass. He says this is for you Daddy so you can find your way home....hold on a little verclempt...ok better.. Too sweet!!

The first one is of Kaleigh, she has a loose front tooth on top and Mike was teasing her with a pair of Big Bird Plyers... Aiden also took these pics. I think I see a camera in his future so mine survives!! But they are actually quite good.

So we are officially back from vacation, and yes if you are wondering from that statement if we extended our vacation past the time we were actually gone then you might be right in your assumptions!! HAHA No really it was wonderful having some good quality family time together. The kids have been on cloud nine well except for mornings when everyone is running around trying to get a certain girl child to get ready in the morning...some things never change.

Mike heads back to Norfolk on Monday and then we start the routine again of him gone all week and home on weekends but I guess we will just suck it up and say that is better then not at all...right? ..right.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all our family and friends that have helped us through the last 8 months. Without your prayers, support and need to help keep my sanity (I know that is a tough job) you have made my life much easier. Again thanks to our families and to my Mom and sister who made having to have two surgeries run smoothly. I would like to especially thank our friends in Easton who has had the tough job of listening to my complaining, helping me with the kids, and kept us busy. For that I am immensely grateful.

Thanks again for everything I can't begin to name everyone that has touched our lives but know that you have.

Lacrosse and A New Bike

Kaleighs Bull Roast Lacrosse Day went well. She had fun even with her mother screaming from the sidelines!! Yes sorry I am THAT Mom. To answer your questions yes, once the Yunkers moved to the Eastern shore we apparently became "country" since it is a John Deere bike and he is wearing his faithful John Deere hat!! I know I will never get the country out of that kid!! HAHA

Private Part Shall we Say

I have debated intensely over this post but since I rarely hold back any other time I thought why should this be different...(truth be told the cat came out of the bag anyway so..)And here is goes.

Aiden takes swimming lesson and had for..well since he was 1 1/2. Anyway this session was with the kids at his preschool. They take them over to the YMCA and then we can come watch or just be there in time to get him dressed at the end. It is wonderful!!

Ok so I am getting him redressed after swimming and his little friend (who will remain anonymous b/c well you will understand soon) was getting dressed by his mom next to us. Now those of you that REALLY know me also know that Aiden is obnoxious like his mother but unlike his mother he has no censor on what comes out and when..You see where this is going... So the next words I hear out of Aidens mouth are "Your ding ding (that is is word for it don't knock it!!) is small look at mine it is big.... I look out the corner of my eyes horror struck at his mom who is decideing to not pay attention. In my head I am torn between screaming (AHHHH) and thinking REALLY.... we are going there? You better pray every night it continues to grow after this!!! Let's just say in the car ride home we had a long talk about what we talk about outloud especially about friends.

So there you have it folks the words that actually rendered me speechless. I know, me speechless. Only one other time has this happened..when Aiden speared poop all over the walls of his playroom when he was two!! I think I am going to have my hands full with this one!! After Kaleigh being painfully shy, I might just die of shock one day from the other!!! Pray for me that I make it. hahahah Keep Laughing!!

Surviving the Deployment

DUM DUM DUM DUM!! Ok so I have put together a list of the top things you need to do when your spouse goes on deployment. I seem to forget in between times he goes away what happened the last time (it is like not remembering how actually giving birth was-repression) so this is as much for me as it is for those other spouses out there..Let's beging

1. Get all the candy out of the house- In my house it is the go to food the one that makes you feel better instantly when nothing else can be found...You can do it just lift the lid and yup it is gone..

2. Invest in ear plugs and or an iPod- I say this because enevitably there are times when you have spent too many hours listening to everyone else and you just need a half hour with your own thoughts. I promise it works. The best is when you just nod your head and they keep talking makes me laugh every time!!!

3. Have a back up car- No really after my ever so trustworthy car breaking down 5 times it was nice to know Mikes was in the garage. Guess that is over when he comes back.

4. Have every appliance/electronic thing in your house insured. Trust me you will love me someday for this one. So far we have had the heater upstairs break, the water heater, sump pump, Dvd player, and TV break since he left.

5. Take naps- I suggest there should be a national nap time as it would make everyone feel better but truly being a single parent...NAPS ROCK!!!

6. Plan out dinners- I am horrible at this but Subway loves me for it.

7. Visit Visit Visit- visit everyone you can to make the time pass with lovely people

8. Disenfect everything, everyday. It still won't help someone will be throwing up some time but it is a state of mind- HAHA

9. Get big dogs- I know you are saying more work and they are but they keep the baddies away and keep you company.

10. Read and escape your everyday life. I have to admit to reading more since Mike left then I have had time to in the last 6 years but I wouldn't change it. Escape was great even til 3 in the morning sometimes!!

11. Stock up on Advil- Don't ask just do it makes everything better.

12. Keep smiling and laughing and the time will pass much faster
